A classic card game!

Classic Solitaire (Free) for Windows 10 is one of the most popular card games in the world. For many years, people have enjoyed the game on their desktops. With the latest version, you can enjoy this game on a wide range of Windows devices, including smartphones, laptops, and tablets. Once you start the game, the computer handles the responsibility of dealing out the cards. As a player, you only need to focus on finding the right cards that make a complete suit.

Play the most popular card game!

Classic Solitaire, also called Klondike Solitaire, is simply referred to as ‘Solitaire’ in most regions around the world. Developed by Arkadium, the game has not only been popular among individuals but workplaces. While there are many variations of the game, Klondike is the most popular adaptation.

If you’re unfamiliar with the idea of multiple versions, you must have been playing Klondike. Simply put, Classic Solitaire for Windows 10 requires you to sort cards. Compared to Free Spider Solitaire, it’s a pretty straightforward game. You can move the cards between multiple columns in an attempt to put them into 4 piles of cards separated by suits.

What is Classic Solitaire’s layout?

Classic Solitaire starts with 28 cards randomly dealt into columns. It’s commonly referred to as a ‘Tableau’. Each row has seven cards. While one card faces up, six more face down. The next step is to deal with a card facing up (as per the rules, which we’ll get to later) in the next row. Similarly, another card needs to be dealt with in the next row.

Continuing the game in this fashion, you need to deal one less card every time until seven piles of cards starting from the left have just one card remaining. Consequently, you need to increase one card with every column from left to right.

Every time an Ace is dealt face-up, you need to place it in a separate row at the top. The next card following the Ace should be added to the same suit. These top four rows of Aces are called the foundations.

The remaining cards should be placed as a complete stockpile. You can draw more cards from here, whenever you need an additional card.

What makes Classic Solitaire popular?

Compared to Hearts Deluxe and 123 Free Solitaire, Classic Solitaire (Free) for Windows 10 can be played on any Windows-supported device. This includes PCs, laptops, smartphones, and tablets. Unlike other versions of this game, the one compatible with Microsoft Windows 8.1 and 10 comes with excellent graphics and fun animations.

Even after decades, the game remains addictive due to the retro-style graphics and pure nature of the game. While it attracts older gamers, even young people find Solitaire to be a fun and addictive card game.

How to play Classic Solitaire?

As mentioned earlier, the columns in the game are called ‘Tableau’. It’s the main play area in the game. You need to move cards from these columns to the ‘foundations’ at the top of the screen. Every foundation needs to be built up by sequence and suit. The allowed sequence is from Ace to King.

While playing the game, you need to move all the available cards to the foundations. On the tableau, you need to build face-up cards, going your way down in alternating colors. If you want to move a card in a column, it needs to be in a face-up position.

In order to turn the card face up, it needs to become the bottom card in a specific column. As such, all the cards right below the face-down card need to be moved to a different column. Whenever you move a face-up card, the software automatically turns up the card right beneath it.

After you’ve dealt the cards, the stockpile forms the tableau. Once all the cards have been dealt, you can reset the entire stockpile. There’s no limit to the number of times you can deal with cards.

What is the objective in Classic Solitaire?

The primary objective of the game is to take all the cards in the deck to the ‘foundations’ at the top right of the screen. Each card must be added to the specific suit pile to win. Once you finish the game, all the ‘Kings’ will be visible on top of the foundations. Classic Solitaire takes a good amount of time, and as such, it’s the perfect way to get rid of boredom and indulge in stimulating activity. Compared to a puzzle game, Solitaire is a much better choice.

Classic Solitaire (Free) for Windows 10 is packed with new features. With a wide range of themes and layouts, the game looks aesthetically appealing. There’s also an online page for registering your high score, which lets you share the best games with online players.

The game comes with a useful ‘hint system’, which allows you to polish the moves and skills. Classic Solitaire for Windows offers some ‘cheats’, which lets you win a game right from the middle of your losing streak. In simple terms, the game comes with multiple scoring methods, a high score board, cheats, and various themes.

The perfect choice to kill time!

If you’ve been looking for a good way to kill time at home or work, Classic Solitaire (Free) download for Windows 10 is a great choice. While games like UNO are perfect for multiplayer outings, if you want to enjoy a classic card game, Solitaire will be an excellent choice. The latest version or the new game remains true to the original classic. Different versions of the game are also available for Mac and Android.
